Christmas Card Creating

Since this blog is about creating art I thought to share how I made Christmas cards.
It is really simple.  All you need is a little time, a little money and the Christmas spirit.
Plus a few supplies which you can get from a craft store.
☆Cards- they sell a package of cards and envelopes at a craft store
☆ Ribbon-any color or size
☆Craft stickers...not those paper stickers. Find elegant pretty ones to make it special
☆White glue
☆Scissors
☆Marker-silver gold...be festive
☆First put on Christmas music and get into that holiday cheer...maybe with eggnog or wine or beer!

☆ start with cutting the ribbon.  I used silver and gold.

☆Paste it down with white glue...trim it after it dries

☆Place your stickers onto the card. I needed alittle glue to secure it.

☆You can make various styles...which can be unique for those you are making it for.

Then use that festive marker to write a message to the dear friend you are sending it to.

Send it to them with love ♡♡♡

Thanksgiving Blessings

Tonight it is a night to relax and detox my stress.  Lately, making art has not been the priority.  I brewed myself a Stress Relief Tea and enjoying the flavors, while enjoying a meal that I prepared.  I am ready to start the next step to the little project I am working on...but I can't show you that now, or I will ruin your surprise.

Best crock pot recipe for a roast.  Moist and full of flavor.

While my stomach becomes full and my stress and overwhelmed thoughts decrease...

Christmas has arrived at my house!  I bought these figures today.  I don't have much space to decorate, so it is a challenge.  More so, if you add in the 3 cats and now a dog along with the decorating!

It is fun to bring some Christmas into a home.  Later this week I will be decorating the tree.  The joy of the season is here and it is a special time of the year.

So enough with the food and decorating; here is a sample of the next step to the project. Of course I will eventually show you the completed project, but not until I change my mind a few more times.  And somehow I managed to loose a marker that I specially bought for this project.  I am furious, of course my cranky irritated personality is starting to come back. It has been one of those weeks!  I shall return to the kitchen and pour more stress relief tea!

To summarize:
Inspirational Words Love Quotes
I am very blessed and enjoy each person who has been in my life, and each person who will come into my life.  I am blessed to have the skills and creativity to bring beauty to those who are open for love and creativity.  I am blessed for God to guide me and keep me save.  I am very blessed.

What are you blessed for?

Happy Thanksgiving.

More art coming soon,

Voice Within

My voice within has always been, and still is today, creating art to tell my story.  The art studio was the only place I felt comfortable.  It was a place I could let my thoughts and energy out on the canvas and it was ALRIGHT no matter what I was trying to express.  It was during my undergraduate art school that I decided I wanted to study to be an art therapist. Even though I had future dreams of being that starving artist in New York City, like every artist has.  I knew I was an art therapist already, because I understood and saw for myself how art can heal.  I suddenly found myself in the mental health field, little did I know I would be working primarily as a counselor. However, I still use art therapy with my clients, it is not as I envisioned.  But I will not get into that.

My experience of being an artist and also an art therapist is: unique.  I consider myself an artist more than a counselor.  Colors, shapes, textures all matter to the painting.  The story is told by those elements.  Most can look at art and find a story.

Art Therapy is not about the quality or the skill of the artist or creator, it is the story that is captured.

Stories are how we share our life.  Go to any person and ask, "what is your story." they will start telling you something.  Go to any artist and ask them what is your artist mission, they have a story.  Go to any musician and ask what they are composing, they will tell you a story.  Go to anyone and they have a story.

Combining art and story equals art therapy.  Everyone wants to tell their story.  I told mine since I learned to draw and paint.  I still tell mine in many forms, paint, drawing, cross stitch, writing.  My mind is a swirling creative flow of "stuff," that always needs to get out.  I never stop creating in my head, let alone stop thinking.  Artists are always emotional, therefore story telling is naturally part of the creation.  Everyone is an artist in some way, not all have the uniqueness of being the "Master Artist."

If you ever wonder if art therapy is real and can heal, go to a museum or better pick up art supplies and start painting.  You will see how it captures your thoughts, emotions, dreams etc.

Live Your Dreams

Tonight I am again sitting on my sofa trying to stay warm, I'm dreaming of ways to turn my bedroom into a Dream Art Studio. With pinterest anything can be done! Here are some inspirations that I dream about...

Leave it to artists to have color on the ceiling.

Nostalgic

I will find someone to build a shelf like this. Perfect to store all my drawing papers

This appears to be an active studio.

Plants in an art studio.  Well at least my bedroom studio has that!

Live your dreams, discover your purpose...
most of the time I believe my dream is to be an artist and my purpose is to help others with their hardships.  That's why I found art therapy to study.  I'll tell you all about that in the next post.

Lady Hearts

I am posting my current heart Zentangle drawings tonight.  It is coming along. I am on track to get this project completed!  Which is surprising, since I have been in major pain the last few days.  The cold weather has increased the RA symptoms in my shoulder.  It makes drawing, even typing difficult.   May need to book that massage soon to loosen my shoulder.  Lady Gray Tea and M&M's are near me so I can finish this post and start more heart Zentangle.  More will be posted soon.

Shall you join me to a museum date...

It is a very cold, let me correct that, a very freezing night in Ohio.  It is 14 degrees which essentially it's zero!  So I am sitting on my sofa, have the coffee pot on and wrapped up in a blanket remembering the times I was in the same room as some of the greatest art and history.

Sometime long ago I was a little girl who was introduced to art museums.  I fell in love.  It was love at first sight.
I was thinking, which is not an unusual circumstance, if you know me well I think too much. And that always leads me to trouble.  But this is GOOD thinking,  I promise. I was thinking about all the beautiful art I have seen...so this is my memory lane of museums....
Cleveland Museum Of Art
Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, I love the renovation, it is so spacious.

Armour in Cleveland Museum of Art
Armour, has to be the most historic room, could you imagine wearing this?

Musee d'Orsay, Paris France, what can I say?  My favorite.  Gorgons building, gorgeous art, romantic city.

France, Paris, musée du Louvre
Musee du Louvre, Paris France
Can I just live in there, so I can see it all.  It's just too big.  I was overwhelmed.  Gorgeous though.

There's more to show you. Perhaps our next date!

Let me give you a sneak peek of my wishes to see before I am too old to go...

Besides returning to France, to see more art and my dear friend.
I want to see castles, the artistic skills in castles are amazing:

Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland
Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland

Scottish Castles open to the public

Dublin Castle in Dublin, Ireland

Dublin Castle in Dublin Ireland
Guiness gate, Dublin, Ireland-Guinness factory was AMAZING!!!

This is just self-explanatory!  If I am over there, I must stop in for beer, stories and music with the Irish!

Let's go on another date to a museum soon,
